In case of PTSD in children, there has to evidence collected by observing and recording the reactions of the children about all the different symptoms. There has to be observation done whether reexperiencing is recurring in the lives of children with PTSD. Then there can be avoidance strategies used by children to not grasp the subject matter of the treatment properly. This can be purposely done to ensure that there is less attention given to children with PTSD. Hyperarousal is another diagnostic category which has to be assessed for children with PTSD.
